Hyundai Motor Company recently launched their new edition of Hyundai N e-Festival Global League, a digital motorsport competition where players battle it out in a VR gaming environment. Champion of this event is invited to Hyundai World Rally Team VIP Hospitality Program at the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).
The Global League was conduced from January to February where qualifiers were hosted on iRacing VR-simulation platform. Players from 13 countries participated in this event and the top 30 players — including the top two players from each country, the winner from the previously held Hyundai N e-Festival Junior Cup and four Wild Card players went on to the grand finale.
The finale was hosted from March to May and after 10 final rounds, Kieran Harrison from the United Kingdom won this inaugural season.
For the Global League, Hyundai Motor partnered up with the iRacing game, which offers a life-like experience of actual racing, highlighting Elantra N TCR’s dynamic driving capabilities and sounds in a thrilling VR setting.
Legendary retired racer Gabriele Tarquini shared his iRacing best lap results with fans outside of the official competition. The official racing car for the event was Elantra N TCR — a Tour Car Racing variant of the 2021 Elantra that was named the 2021 North American Car of the Year.
