Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’re surely familiar with the name of Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, the YouTube Gaming star who has garnered the attention of millions of video game enthusiasts worldwide with her livestreams and content on the platform.
While she had already been declared as the fastest-growing female streamer of all time, her popularity still used to fall short of Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who boasted a follower count of over 7 million on the livestreaming website.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, as a recent report from Stream Hatchet has revealed that Valkyrae has overtaken Pokimane as the most-viewed female streamer of 2020 across all video game streaming platforms.
Over the past year, Valkyrae has managed to accumulate a total of 23.6 million hours watched, while Poki only had 23.3 million hours to her channel. The duo were trailed by ‘saddummy’, ‘pekora’, and ‘Jinnytty’ with 20.1, 14.6, and 14.0 millions of hours watched respectively.
While Valkyrae was initially struggling to maintain an average viewer count of 5,000 towards the beginning of 2020, her YouTube channel experienced a significant boost when she started playing the murder-mystery title ‘Among Us’ and began collaborating with other popular streamers like Disguised Toast, Sykkuno, Pokimane, Pewdiepie, or Moistcr1tikal.
Towards the end of the year, Valkyrae was regularly seen rocking peak concurrent viewer counts of over 100,000, which is a remarkable achievement in itself.
