G2 beat North to win DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017

DreamHack Malmo Masters 2017 had its moment in the five-day phenomenal festival for the CSGO fans. The fans were excited to see multiple teams live in action after their structural changes. Natus Vincere had Zeus back. Olofmeister teaming up with karrigan and GuardiaN in FaZe, and Gambit with their new talent Fitch! And of course the best part on how G2 got blessed in disguise from the over-commitment of SK players.

The grand final commenced very soon after the second semi-finals. The veto was Train, Cobblestone, and Nuke. The first map appeared to be more or less one-sided for the G2 side when they first began. Soon after, things settled and North grabbed some gear on the game. The game concluded at 16-12 quite comfortably.

The second game at Cobblestone was rather a practice game for G2 as North didn’t find their ground until the game finished. The map ended flawlessly in favor of G2 side with final standings 16-9.

DreamHack Masters Malmo is a pride event for the Swedes. Every year thousands of people walk in to experience the fest and support their favorite teams. And likewise, this year the arena was backing the Swedish pride Ninjas in Pyjamas during the semi-finals. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make it to the grand finals, but it was certainly a rising event for the Ninjas. Draken and REZ were the newest addition who didn’t fail to impress the crowd. On the French side of the teams, FaZe disappointed thousands of fans as they couldn’t qualify for the play offs even though having such destructive fire power.

It will be great to see these teams adjusting themselves after Malmo championship. We will see them compete at ESG Tour Mykonos 2017 in the coming weekend, and of course at ELEAGUE CSGO 2017 in the next month.
