A3 comes out as victorious at the final finals of ESL Starter Cup for the year

After defeating EnTity Gold yesterday at the semi-finals of ESL India Premiership Starter Cup #6, A3 today annihilated their opponents GunPoint in the grand finals beating them twice consecutively 2-0 (Cache 16-14, Mirage 19-16) in a best of three games.

A3 which has some of the top players from the Counter Strike 1.6 edition of the game had not been into the top 4 since the inception of Global Offensive in India.

Even though participating in almost every tournament and trying out with different players to settle with the best composition, A3 marks their first ever successful win in the new version of the game. The win comes when India’s witnessing multiple of new ventures signing in and creating a platform for the pro players to prove their skills.

A3 which played the premiership with PokerF, Anakil, Spy, Spyroo and Revo1tberg won the first map Cache very closely 16-14 even though being in the lead at the very start of the game. Entering into the second map, mirage, A3 looked confident and played in the same way as the previous one.

A3 did manage to climb to the closing stages of the game but failed to grab the map ahead of 6 match points straight. GunPoint, however, presented before us some great Counter Strike by bringing the game back from 6 match points against them into pushing the map to overtime.

The game resettled at 15-15 with 10K in the bank of each player and GunPoint denied the lead in the very first round by comfortably winning the first round of OT. Challenging their comeback, A3 initiated their part of retrieving the map back from them as they didn’t lose any rounds further and closed the game at 19-16.

A3 and GunPoint both earns a slot at the ESL India Premiership Challenger #2 which is scheduled in the next month.
