DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019 has been full of upsets and we saw another one come to fruition, this time in the Lower Bracket of Group B. The LB semi-finals saw Liquid take on Grayhound in what appeared to be a comfortable series for the current #1 CSGO team in the world.
The map veto also seemed to favour Liquid to a great extent. But, Grayhound swept away the series 2-0 to eliminate Liquid and progress to the final of the Lower Bracket in Group B. The Australians overturned a 12-3 deficit on Mirage to shut Liquid down 16-13 before mounting another comeback on Nuke to close the map 16-10 and series 2-0.
The elimination is Liquid’s first Group Stage exit in big events in 2019 and marks the end of the North American challenge at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019.
In the second semi-final in the Lower Brackets of Group B, mousesports were made to toil by Optic gaming. But, the European stack managed to close out both maps at the end and secure the series 2-0.
mousesports will now face Grayhound in the Lower Bracket Finals of Group B. The winner of the fixture will proceed to the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
