Astralis Humbled by Copenhagen Flames on Day 1 of PGL CSGO Major

The first day of the PGL Stockholm Major is underway and what better way to start it than a Danish Derby between Astralis and Copenhagen Flames (CPH). CPH came into the game as underdogs but that tag didn’t last long. Picking into Overpass might have been Astralis’ undoing as it’s the second best map for CPH and they showed them and the world that they shouldn’t be taken lightly, as they beat them swiftly 16-7, going up 1-0 in the Challengers stage.

MAP VETO

1. Astralis removed Mirage

2. Astralis removed Vertigo

3. Copenhagen Flames removed Dust2

4. Copenhagen Flames removed Inferno

5. Copenhagen Flames removed Nuke

6. Astralis removed Ancient

7. Overpass was left over

The pistol and conversion in the first 3 rounds was the only shining light for the 4 time Major winners as they couldnt manage any consecutive rounds after it. The ones they did get were due to individual plays alone with a 4k from Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen and an Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif 3K. CPH posted 9 rounds on the CT side and on the switch, they showed the favourites no respect.

They cruised past them, winning 6 rounds on the trot as Astralis failed to post a single CT side round.

Ruining Pick em’s on day 1 itself, Astralis go down 0-1 while CPH go 1-0 on the first day of the Challengers Stage at PGL Stockholm.
