Optic Gaming Edge Out LOUD to Avoid Elimination at Valorant Masters Copenhagen

The third and final game of the day was an elimination Group A game between the VCT Masters Reykjavik Finalists LOUD and Optic Gaming. The Valorant Champions Tour Masters Copenhagen is delivering everything, and all the matches have gone the distance.

Optic Gaming and LOUD were on the opposite end of an upset, with Guild beating Optic in two maps while KRU managed to edge out LOUD and forced them into an elimination matchup.

The map veto started with LOUD banning Optic gaming’s comfort pick of Haven, while Optic chose to ban Icebox, a map which hasn’t been forgiving for them.

With their map pick, LOUD chose Ascent, statistically their best map, while Optic chose to play Fracture, a strong map for them. The following bans from LOUD and Optic Gaming were Bind and Breeze, respectively, With Split remaining as the decider.

The first map ascent started well for Optic, With Crashes Aceing the first round and FNS clutching the next one to win four out of the five first rounds. LOUD though, managed to find an answer to Optics’ defence to win the next five rounds. Optic stopped the bleeding, winning the last two rounds of the half to tie the score at 6-6.

The defensive half for LOUD started well, and they put up a fortress on both sides, with Aspas’s Operator leading the charge, limiting Optic to only two rounds to win their map pick 13-8.

Optic Gaming started their map pick on defence, and defence they did, shutting down LOUD’s attack and limiting them to only four rounds and winning eight rounds on the back of solid performances from Marvel and Yay.

The second half seemed to go in Optic’s favour, with Victor spearheading the Optic attack. LOUD quickly reset themselves to string together three rounds before losing the map 8-13. With this victory, Optic Managed to force the third map. Split started with Optic Gaming on the attack, winning the first pistol round and the follow-up round.

LOUD’s confidence did not faze, and they won seven out of the next eight rounds. Optic stopped the bleeding with Yay helping them win the last two rounds to end the half 5-7.

The second half started in LOUD’s favour, winning three out of the first four rounds. Optic came back strong, winning six rounds out of the next seven to reach map and match point. But in the last round, pancada pulled off a guardian clutch to force overtime.

In overtime, Optic found a gap in the LOUD defence, winning the first OT round and completely shut down LOUD’s attack to win the map 14-12 and the series 2-1, eliminating LOUD.

Optic Gaming, with this victory, would face KRU Esports tomorrow for a chance to qualify for the VCT Masters Copenhagen Playoffs. LOUD, despite the loss, displayed fantastic games and would be prepared to win it all at Valorant Champions.
