Little Nightmares III Release Delayed to 2025

Fans of the eerie and atmospheric game series Little Nightmares will have to wait a bit longer for the next installment. Supermassive Games, in collaboration with Bandai Namco Europe, has announced that Little Nightmares III will not be released in 2024 as initially planned. Instead, the game’s launch has been postponed to 2025.

The decision to delay Little Nightmares III stems from a commitment to quality. The developers have expressed their eagerness for players to return to the Nowhere, the game’s mysterious setting, but emphasize the importance of dedicating sufficient time to ensure the game lives up to the high standards expected by both the creators and the fans. This dedication to delivering an exceptional gaming experience is a testament to the teams’ hard work and the love they have for the franchise.

Despite the delay, the Little Nightmares team has assured fans that more information will be shared later this summer. This promise of forthcoming updates is a silver lining for those eagerly awaiting news on the game’s progress.

Prior to the announcement of the delay, Supermassive Games faced significant layoffs, with approximately 90 employees being let go in February. This reduction in workforce preceded the delay announcement and may have contributed to the decision to push back the release date.

Despite the setback with Little Nightmares III, Supermassive Games is known for its success with the 2015 horror title Until Dawn. The studio is also currently working on another project, The Casting of Frank Stone, a narrative-driven game set in the Dead by Daylight universe. This diversification of projects showcases the studio’s range and commitment to the horror genre.
