Genshin Impact has introduced Citlali, a new five-star Cryo character arriving in Version 5.3. She will debut alongside Mavuika in the first banner cycle, expected to launch on January 1. Players can summon both characters during this update.
Genshin Impact 5.3: Citlali Kit Revealed
Citlali’s Elemental Skill, Dawnfrost Darkstar, creates a shield based on her Elemental Mastery. The shield reduces Cryo damage by 250%. The skill also summons Itzpapa, a companion that deals Cryo damage to nearby enemies. If Citlali has at least 50 Nightsoul points, Itzpapa enters a special state, enabling extra Cryo damage.
Triggering Melt or Frozen reactions lowers Pyro and Hydro resistances by 20%. This effect increases damage output when combined with elemental reactions.
Her Elemental Burst, Edict of Entwined Splendor, releases an area-of-effect Cryo attack and restores Nightsoul points. It also spawns Spiritvessel Skulls that explode near enemies after a short delay.
Team Roles and Synergy
Citlali functions as a support character focused on elemental reactions. Her abilities work well with Pyro and Hydro characters, boosting Melt and Frozen damage. She complements Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, making her ideal for reaction-heavy teams.
Exploration Features
Citlali has a passive talent that allows her to move through Phlogiston Mechanic zones by floating on a pillow. This feature helps players explore regions like Natlan more efficiently.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Citlali provides strong shielding and Cryo damage support. Her ability to lower resistances improves reaction damage. However, she cannot reduce Cryo resistance, which may limit her synergy with Cryo-focused teams. Players relying on elemental reactions will gain the most from her abilities.
