Zombies have been an integral part of the Call of Duty experience. Ever since the release of Call of Duty: World at War, Zombie mode was quick to climb up the ranks as one of the fan favorites. The game mode was extremely appreciated to the point that every COD since 2008 went on to feature its own iteration of the zombie mode. With the launch of COD Mobile season 2, Zombies have made their way to mobile devices.
Black Ops: Cold War‘s three Fireteam maps, Alpine, Ruka, and Golova are where the zombies can be found. Players must work together to survive through multiple waves to zombies that the game will throw at them. Loots will be available for players to grab that will help combat the undead.
Difficulty of the waves:
- Wave 1 — Round 1 zombies
- Wave 2 — Round 5 zombies
- Wave 3 — Round 10 zombies
Objectives:
Holdout
Much like Hardpoint, Players will be given the control of an area where they will have to defend it for 3 and 1/2 minutes. The combat will be extremely close-ranged for the better part and all escapes will be sealed, thus fighting out of the mess is the only way out.
Escort
As the name suggests, players will have to defend an armored vehicle as it attempts to pass through three different portals before making its way through the final Dark Aether. The vehicle will be constantly approached by zombies and won’t move until all zombies in front of the vehicle have been eliminated. Keep up with the rover and clear the path for it. Ironically, a monkey will be found behind the rover which provides perks and buffs to the players upon transformation.
Retrieve
Retrieve will task the player with delivering two canisters to a rocket. Holding the canister up will harm your movement speed, but a hand is always available to shoot at the undead. Having restrictions right left and center makes it the most difficult among all the game modes.
Defend
Much like holdout, players must find a way to defend a machine against waves of zombies. Three incoming waves of increasing difficulty will be attempting to trample your defense. Sentry turrets will come in handy when defending the church building and Chopper Gunners are useful in the open areas.
Eliminate
This mode will feature a powerful undead. This battle will have three phases as the tip-top hops around to various close by POIs. Find it and execute it before it takes down the Requiem team.
