How to fix ‘error code 0’ in Valorant?

The 'error code 0' is becoming increasingly common over the last couple of patches in Valorant, and it is causing players to be unable to play the game.

From invisible HUDs to invincible Omens, if you’ve been sticking around Valorant for a while, you should be familiar with a variety of bugs the competitive shooter has faced since its release on June 4th. However, none of them were quite as annoying as the ‘error code 0’ bug which has been haunting players for a while now.

The ‘error code 0’ seems to occasionally pop up in the client for no apparent reason and prevents the player from entering the game. The exact causes behind this problem are still unclear, but players can expect Riot to soon deliver a patch which includes a fix for this problem.

Due to the roots of the problem being in the dark, there is no official solution for the infamous ‘error code 0’. However, most Valorant players across social media platforms have agreed upon a few fixes which seem to do the job nine times out of ten.

The first thing you should try is restarting your client, and then your computer. If the problem still persists, proceed the next steps.

Reinstall Vanguard: Besides the ‘error code 0’, Riot’s anti-cheat engine also had reports of causing other problems not only in Valorant, but in other games as well. Reinstalling Vanguard in your system may be a simple solution to this error. To do so, you can simply right click on the Vanguard icon in the bottom-right of your taskbar and click on uninstall. Alternatively, you can also uninstall Vanguard from the control panel. Once done, you can reinstall the anti-cheat by launching Valorant.

Reinstalling Valorant: A fresh reinstall of the entire game is very likely to clear any underlying errors you may be having while launching Valorant. You can uninstall Valorant from the control panel and then download a fresh copy from Riot’s official website. This process will also install Vanguard from scratch, further increasing your chances to fix the ‘error code 0’.

If everything else fails, all you can do is to wait patiently for Riot to fix this problem. Considering the fact that they’ve been receiving a lot of complaints over this issue, they’re very likely to deliver a hotfix for it sooner than later.
