Epic Games recently announced their collaboration with Houseparty to revamp the Fortnite gameplay experience for players with the implementation of a new video chatting feature.
Starting today, players will be able to video chat with their friends while playing Fortnite through Houseparty.
For the unaware, Houseparty is a social networking service that enables group video chatting through mobile and desktop apps.
The new video chat feature is currently only available for Fortnite players on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
How to use video call in Fortnite
- For starters, players will have to install the Houseparty app on their Android or iOS devices. To download the app, you can simply visit Houseparty’s official website and hit the ‘Download’ button. An alternative way is to download it from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
- Once done, players will need to link their Houseparty accounts with their Epic Games accounts. You can sign up for an Epic Games account here.
- When the accounts are linked, players have to launch Fortnite on PC, PS4, or PS5 and position the mobile to fully frame their faces.
That’s all you need to do to video chat with your friends while playing Fortnite.
As a bonus for linking their Epic and Houseparty accounts, players will also receive the Rainbow Fog Wrap for absolutely free. Players can also get the Rainbow Fog Wrap by playing five matches of Fortnite with friends between November 20 at 12:00 am ET and November 26 at 11:59 pm ET.
As a safety precaution, Parents can choose to turn off the Houseparty video chat feature within Fortnite’s Parental Controls. Remember, you have to be at least 13 years old to create a Houseparty account.
