How Long is a Valorant Match: Average Game Time

Playing Valorant requires a certain amount of time commitment, with individual games sometimes extending for over an hour. So, what is the average duration of a Valorant game, and how much time should you set aside before queuing for a ranked match?

There’s no definitive answer to this, as the duration of a Valorant game can vary significantly depending on the game mode. For instance, competitive and unrated games last longer than any other game mode in Valorant, while a Spike Rush can conclude in just a few minutes.

In this article, we’ll stick to the unrated and competitive game modes to provide an estimate of how much time a full game of Valorant can take.

If you’re playing a game of competitive or unrated Valorant, the match length primarily depends on how the game is going.

For instance, one-sided stomps can easily end in 20 minutes, but if teams are evenly matched, the match can go anywhere between 40 to 60 minutes.

If a game goes into overtime, the match duration can increase exponentially. In fact, Valorant games lasting as long as 90 minutes are not unheard of.

Overtimes in unrated games aren’t as long, though. In unrated Valorant, overtime consists of a single sudden-death round, where the first team to win one round after a 12-12 tie claims victory.
