Valorant is fun to play with friends, but there are also times when you’d much rather hop on a solo queue and grind ranked. In such moments, knowing how to appear offline in Valorant can be a game-changer.
Unfortunately, Valorant doesn’t have an in-built method to appear offline when playing the game. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t do it.
Whether you’re looking to avoid someone in particular or just don’t want to be bombarded with invites every time you log into the game, you can use certain third-party apps to hide your Valorant activity status and appear offline.
How To Appear Offline in Valorant: Deceive
In order to appear offline to your friends in Valorant, you’ll need the help of a third-party app called ‘Deceive’.
For the uninitiated, Deceive is a widely used third-party app that allows players to appear offline in Valorant. While it hasn’t been officially vetted by Riot, Deceive is considered safe to use at the time of writing, with no reports of bans linked to the app surfacing on social media forums.
How To Use Deceive in Valorant
First, head over to the official GitHub page of Deceive and download the application. Once done, run ‘Deceive.exe’ on your PC as an administrator. Wait for it to launch, and simply select ‘Valorant’ from the list of games.
And voilà! You’ll now appear offline to all your friends in Valorant. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to chat with your friends or invite them to your party, but they won’t be able to do the same since you’ll appear as ‘offline’ on their friends list.
If you want to change your online status in Valorant, open the Deceive app from your system tray and change the ‘Status Type’.
