Valorant recently launched on consoles, but is it available on Xbox One? This popular console was released in 2013 and quickly became a favorite among gamers. However, it’s clear that it’s not the latest technology in the Xbox lineup. When Valorant Console was released on June 14, 2024, the developers specified that it would only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
As a result, Valorant is currently not playable on Xbox One.
How to Play Valorant on Xbox One?
At this time, you cannot play or download Valorant on Xbox One. The game is in a limited beta phase, accessible only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, ensuring it takes advantage of the latest technology for the best performance.
The Xbox Series X and S are part of the 9th generation of gaming consoles, which launched in 2020 alongside Sony’s PlayStation 5. These systems boast advanced technology, making them the perfect platforms for running this game, which is why Valorant is not available on Xbox One.
The official website clearly states that to join the Valorant Console beta, players need to have one of the specified devices.
While play between console and PC isn’t possible, players on Xbox and PS5 can compete against each other. Unfortunately, this still excludes those who want to play Valorant on Xbox One.
In fact, Microsoft has significantly reduced its focus on developing new titles for Xbox One. Developers at Xbox Game Studios have shifted their efforts toward the 9th generation consoles, with most new releases aimed at Xbox Series X|S rather than older systems.
Riot Games is not expected to provide backward compatibility, which means players won’t be able to download and play Valorant on Xbox One in the future. As a result, players will have to wait and see if the developers decide to extend support for older devices.
Valorant Console Exclusive Features
Valorant Console features almost all the elements available in the PC version of the game. However, to improve the experience for console players, Riot Games has introduced a Focus mode.
The Focus mode in Valorant helps players with hip-firing more effectively, as using a controller for shooters can be more challenging than using a mouse and keyboard. Moreover, the game will support cross-progression, ensuring that all updates, new features, and patches are released simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, just like on PC.
For now, the active map pool in Valorant Console includes only four maps: Ascent, Haven, Bind, and Abyss.
