League of Legends a Moba title by Riot games is a popular game that can be played in various settings but one of the most common methods to play the game is in full-screen mode.
While some prefer a smaller “windowed” mode, especially streamers who only would want to stream the game screen and tab out to other applications for their companion apps – the vast majority of players, like us, stick to the full-screen mode.
But, the question of the hour is – How do you use full-screen mode on League of Legends? We’ve got you covered.
Full-screen mode on League of Legends
Mostly every League of Legends client on the market opens up in full screen by default. This is a hardware-related choice, but in case you own a monitor that displays the game in a different resolution, ugly black bars are going to appear on both sides of your screen.
While some of the players won’t mind this, a lot of players will find this distracting can also ruin gameplay. So, here is how to change from the window mode to the fullscreen mode in your next League of Legends game.
How to set League of Legends in Fullscreen mode
- Press the “Esc” key on the keyboard while in game
- Click on the “Video” tab in the menu
- Scroll to the right to find the “Windowed mode” setting and select the dropdown
- Find the “full screen” option, and save the settings.
Note: the screen may go black for a second, but after a second or so, the resolution should be fixed and the game should be back to normal.
Best Screen resolution for League of Legends
Like almost every other game, this game is best optimized for 1920×1080 screens and the game looks the best at this resolution. While it is not necessary to run it in this resolution, it does boil down to preference. The game in itself, however, does not have a lot of demanding processing requirements.
Here are the minimum system requirements for League of Legends. Having the optimal resolution ensures no additional load on your processor and also removes the black bars allowing you to dominate the rift at your best.
This is because the game has to process all the background applications if you are running it in windowed mode and this can pull down the FPS in the game – causing problems.
