In the fast-paced world of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3), every second counts. One tool that can give you a significant advantage is the Tactical Insertion. This field upgrade allows you to control your respawn point, potentially saving time and surprising your opponents. This guide will walk you through how to unlock, use, and maximize the benefits of Tactical Insertion in MW3.
Unlocking Tactical Insertion
Tactical Insertion is unlocked at player rank 45. To reach this rank quickly, complete daily and weekly challenges, which are the biggest source of XP. Use XP boost tokens to double your XP gains. Earn XP efficiently by playing objectives in core multiplayer or farming zombies in MWZ. Once Tactical Insertion is unlocked, it can be inserted into any loadout in the Field Upgrade slot.
Using Tactical Insertion
To use Tactical Insertion, press the key or button for your Field Upgrade, dropping a flare at your feet. Upon death, you will see the flare location on your map and deploy there after a short timer. You can also choose to cancel and respawn normally. The Tactical Insertion has a cooldown period before it can be used again, which can be halved with the Engineer Vest.
Strategic Use of Tactical Insertion
Tactical Insertion can be a game-changer in securing objectives in game modes like Domination and Hardpoint. Planting the insertion flare near a contested flag or hardpoint allows for maintaining consistent pressure.
In large game modes like Ground War or Invasion, Tactical Insertion can be used to bypass choke points and flank opponents. Before deploying the flare, plan your insertion point considering cover, escape routes, and proximity to enemy positions. Avoid open areas or predictable spots to prevent enemies from destroying your insertion flare.
Countermeasures Against Tactical Insertion
Equip the Engineer Vest to detect flares, as well as other field upgrades and killstreaks through walls. Carrying grenades allows you to destroy enemy insertion points, disrupting their strategies.
