What is MOBA? Basic guide on MOBA games and Wildrift

Now before we begin this article properly, I’d like you to think what comes to mind when I say MOBA games? Do you think of league of legends or overwatch?

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena often known as MOBA entails players fighting against eachother (PvP Mode) in order to complete certain goals such as destroying bases , capturing objectives and lot more.

Some of the MOBA games you might have heard of are:

  • Dungeon of the Ancients ( DOTA 2 )
  • League of legends ( LoL )
  • Overwatch
  • Paladins

What do the above games have in common?

Well I’ll tell you.

  • Character Based gameplay
  • Heavily required team coordination
  • large , exploitable terrain

Riot Games made announcement that they’ll be launching a new game during its tenth year anniversary event and that’s wild rift. However, League of Legends: Wild Rift is an entirely new game, rather than just a mobile port of the world’s most popular game.

What is Wild Rift?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a new mobile version of the world’s most popular MOBA game, League of Legends. The summoner’s rift which is now known as the wild rift has been completely rebuilt. Many of the game’s popular skins and characters has been redesigned completely.

Wild Rift’s map is very similar to the PC version of League of legends. Although it has very few changes, the major change is that your map is mirrored. This means that your base will always be at the bottom left side. This makes sure that youe fingers don’t cover the important part of the screen.

Currently 50 champions have been included in the Wild Rift beta version. These include classic champions like Annie, Malphite, and Nasus, as well as lately released ones like Seraphine, Yasuo, and Camille. Every champion has been completely redesigned and rebuilt from scratch, so not all current skins will be available at launch.
