CS:GO average players dropped highest since 2012

In a not very shocking turn of terminology, CS:GO experienced a massive drop in the calculation of average players which was reported at -10% by Steamcharts. The reason is not that people are losing interest in the game, but more and more hackers are ruining the fun and Valve has taken no strict action until today.

Valve pretends to be absconding when asked about their efforts in eliminating the hackers from the game, with a tedious feature of banning the blatant cheaters from Overwatch, and thus the community is not very happy with them. The amount of players adding up to the game is far more than people Overwatching and wasting their time to make the community cleaner. Valve simply avoid talking about this and are in no mood to take actions against this.

We can not claim it to be a down fall entirely, but a massive drop in the number of players enjoying the game has been recorded. It is important to note that these are not only professionals but semi-pros and casual gamers who just enjoy the game. Ever since the last ban-wave came flying, Valve made over a million dollar just from banning the hackers and still has not implemented a strong anti-cheat, and now you know the reason why.

CSGO hackers

Valve’s response

These hackers are now fearless than ever, as they are confident enough on not particularly their undetected hacks, but also on Valve’s ignorance to the major part of community destruction. Also to note that the major share of the players enjoying the game rely on Valve’s match-making which is not superior to the third party services but is easy to play, and the numbers dropping down is not only of the Valve match-making but, CS:GO players as a whole, which is devastating.

Ample number of people have joined and showed their interest in CS:GO in the recent years and Valve should have been more than serious about this regard than ever. The way they handle the situation of hackers or give this section lesser priority just doesn’t add-up. If they want to see the community grow, the effort should not only be hosting events but also taking care of the online community by discouraging hackers and punishing them at such intense from there the abusers struggle to return from.  It is quiet amicable to witness how strict Valve is when it comes to banning the wrong-doers but is not abusing the game also a form of exploiting the game mechanics?

It is high time that players who are regular should not just wait for the ban-hammer but should be expecting a strong VAC system from the developers which is not impossible when there are third-party Anti-cheats working better than VAC already.

Australian officials are warning parents about their kids involved in CSGO skin gambling

0

There are literally thousands of website in this new era of CS:GO skins market which has been the talking point of more than a year now and nothing seems to be amicable as it sounds. Thus, Australian officials are warning parents about their kids which might be involved and addicted to CS:GO skins gambling which has destroyed lives and banks of many already.

The virtual item which has real life values always holds an obligatory problem as far as commercials are concerned. The skins which have a value ranging somewhere between less than a dollar upto $2000, (yes, some are even over that figure) they can be en-cashed in real money and can be used as a way of money laundering.

CSGO Costly Skin

The ABC has spoken to a number of young gamers who have gambled skins. In one case, a teenager stole his parent’s credit card and gambled away thousands of dollars. Jordan Bruce, an 18-year-old gamer from Brisbane, said he played CS:GO for about a year before he started getting into the gambling.

“I bet all my money on skins, I was that much into it, then it started getting bad,” one said

“I just had that urge. I hated it and I hated myself after it, but at the time I just thought ‘I won’t get caught’,” Jordan said.

Rahul Sood — founder of US-based eSports gambling betting website Unikrn — said the ease with which children can watch and get involved in the gambling makes him seriously uncomfortable.

“It’s just so easy to do and because there’s no oversight and no regulation, there are sites from all over the world that are accepting bets and nobody seems to care,” he said. Mr Sood said he wants to hear from Counter-Strike’s developers Valve about where they stand on children gambling using the marketplace they created.

“We would love for them to work with good operators and come up with a system that can solve some of the issues that are happening out there but I haven’t seen anything publicly from them,” he said.

Virtus Pro to miss ESEA Season 22

0

ESEA has reported that Virtus.pro have surrendered their spot in the Premier division. The Polish strength were about to play in ESEA Premier, one level beneath the ESL Pro League, after a deplorable season that finished with a 1-2 thrashing by PENTA Sports in the assignment match.

The choice could need to do with the way that ESEA Season 22 has no binds to season 4 of the Pro League, which will begin in the not so distant future. The groups contending in the Premier division will play for spots at the ESEA Global Challenge Finals. The swedish lineup ggrabb would be filling up the spot for

Virtus Pro accused of player swap during Summit 5 Finals

Regional qualifiers of The Summit 5 have finished on 29th May and Virtus.Pro dominantly takes the win against Ad Finem (AF) with a score of 3-1 and qualified for the main event.

Virtus Pro was added to the tier 2 regional qualifiers with Team Empire, Ad Finem and Alliance where VP did not drop a single game.

The Summit 5 will be played at the BTS house in Los Angeles with eight teams participating for the prize pool of 100,000$. The four teams qualified from the regional qualifiers are Wings Gaming, Virtus Pro, Fnatic and Digital Chaos.

Virtus Pro accused for player swap during Summit 5 Finals.

While ‘Noone’ was streaming a game, he suddenly abandoned the game and said he was asked to play for VP. The vod is now been deleted but the viewers confirmed the same on Reddit. Game can be found here (He was playing Sven) from his smurf account.

As we all know about the pause time of game 3 during The Summit 5 EU regional qualifiers was long enough for admins to wait, admins started pushing up the teams to resume the game with quick re-connection. With that fng said something like ‘Please, 2 more minutes, his PC’s asking for a code, because he went to an internet cafe to play’ which aloha never went as per the discussions and he was waiting for his internet to get back at home. Ad Finem agreed to wait for 2 more minutes with that excuse made by fng, but there was no re-connection (Reason : The source 2 client never allows to reconnect from a different computer). After waiting for some time the game was resumed as it took lot of time for ‘aloha’ to get back. VP played the game 4v5 and lost the game soon.

As we go to the game 4 of the Final. VP connected with all five players including alohadance and drafted a juggernaut as carry.

It was surprising to see the arrangement of his items was same as Noone’s and mainly the professional players do not change their positioning of boots.

With the screenshots above it clearly specifies that there can be a chance of player swap during a live tournament which is indeed unethical. Admins hosting the Pro tournaments needs to be more detailed about the players play style to avoid such kind of practices.

BTS is now looking into the matter and surely investigate about this.

Luminosity beats Cloud9 to be the winner of Group A finals

It was the fourth day of the ELEAGUE Season 1 and Luminosity will take on Cloud9 in the group A final. As the veto proceeded Luminosity picked up their first map of the game that was Mirage and then Cloud9 picked up Cobblestone. The final map that was randomly picked out was Dust2. Cloud9 got things started pretty well as they won the first pistol round of the map which included a knife fill from Skadoodle.

Cloud9 got a head start with a 3-0 lead against the Brazilians but Fallen didn’t let the lead stay longer and picked up three kills and gave Luminosity the first gun round. After that Fnx and Fallen both picked up a few rounds and in no time Luminosity were leading 4-3. And improvised Cloud9 made a force buy and with the help of n0thing and Skadoodle they pulled off a great round which gave a them a great momentum and made the first half scoreline 9-6 in the favor of Cloud9, Coldzera once again stepped up for his team and manged to win the second pistol round of the map.Luminosity managed to win both anti-ecos as well as the first gun round but then n0thing went insane and saved the round by picking up three kills. This time they didn’t give Luminosity a chance to comeback in the game and n0thing led his team to victory with the help of 33 kills and closing the map 16-11 in the favor of Cloud9.

The second map of the game was Cobblestone and Luminosity were under a lot of pressure. Cloud9 started out on the T Side of the map and with the help of Slemmy they managed to win the first pistol round. Skadoodle then went to take a triple kill and Cloud9 were leading the map with a scoreline of 6-2. And with the help of fnx and fallen Luminosity somehow manged to make the first half scoreline 8-7 in the favour of Cloud9. Thistime Luminosity somehow manged to win the second half pistol round and then started winning with a 11-9 lead. But Cloud9 didn’t stay behind for a long time Skadoodle picked some amazing kills with his AWP that lead the game go into overtime. With the help of Coldzera and fallen, Luminosity closed the map winning it 19-16 and taking it to the third map of the game.

The third map of the game was Dust2 where Luminosity started the map pretty well by winning the first pistol round and then with the help of Fallen’s mind blowing scout entry kills in the anti-ecos, the Brazilians started dominating the map. Fallen and Coldzera cleaned things up by winning the first half with a scoreline of 14-1. Cloud9 won the second pistol round and tried to make a comeback in the game with the help of Stewie2k who picked up some amazing kills and tried to comeback in the game but it just wasn’t enough as Coldzera finally wrapped things up and Luminosity won the map and the final of the Group A with the scoreline of 16-9.

The Group A of the ELEAGUE Season 1 finally came to an end by Luminosity winning a comfortable third map thereafter, qualifying for the final playoffs. SK accused of ‘Torturous Interference” into Luminosity players

0

ELeague officials are in discussion to potentially discipline — and perhaps remove — Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team SK Gaming after it attempted to poach the entire Luminosity Gaming team, coach and manager.

Now, as the players try to go back on contracts they signed with SK Gaming, SK on Friday threatened to pursue litigation against them. However, the Luminosity players also had outstanding letters of intent with Luminosity Gaming for a two-year term that were signed in December 2015.

SK GAMING

In the emails, SK Gaming managing director Alex Müller said the players could choose where to live and practice, and offered $9,000 in monthly allowances for the team house and for flights to Brazil to see family. Müller even brought the letters of intent to a group of German and British law offices. Their legal analysis concluded that letters of intent “always [have] an OUT,” according to one email exchange. Müller also promised the players legal representation, additional compensation and counsel in any regard.

The players, coach and manager have ultimately decided to stick with Luminosity, but due to the SK contracts — which the group said were signed out of pressure and a promise of protection from Luminosity –SK Gaming is now threatening to prepare litigation against the players, coach and management, according to the players’ lawyer, Ryan Morrison.

Representing the players in the matter is video game attorney Ryan Morrison, who has worked in the players’ interest apart from any specific organization. Esports lawyer Bryce Blum is the representative of Luminosity Gaming, while World Esports Association (WESA) interim league commissioner Pietro Fringuelli represented SK Gaming originally. But Fringuelli has removed himself from the case after being approached by all parties and asked about a blatant conflict of interest given his position with WESA. The new SK Gaming lawyer, Konstantin Ewald, has threatened the players with litigation if they don’t compete with SK Gaming starting July 1.

Fringuelli is not the only WESA-associated party involved with this case. Electronic Sports League CEO and WESA board member Ralf Reichert is a partner in SK Gaming, as verified by the German company’s register. However, Reichert said Thursday on Twitter that he has made an agreement to sell his shares in the company. Maida, the Luminosity Gaming CEO, notified Reichert about this issue. In a statement from ESL, Reichert claims to have no involvement in this situation. However, according to Maida, he and Reichert discussed this matter.

“The entire situation is extremely disheartening that a group of authoritative figures that we trust as owners and players would try to steal something the players and I have built from the ground up,” Maida said in a statement. “As of now the team, by their own decision, is staying with LG and honoring their pre-existing contracts. We hope to continue to build our legacy in peace.”

In Counter-Strike, poaching is not against any current rules and is handled on a case-by-case basis by individual leagues. However, it is highly frowned upon by many, particularly when one party interferes with the business of another. In other esports, such as League of Legends, team associates such as Renegades CEO Chris Badawi and organization Counter Logic Gaming have received hefty fines and even complete bans from leagues due to similar action.

Once again Team Brutality will be the sole Indian team in ESEA Season 22

2

We can’t stop complaining, can we? This is how things work in a developing industry where people fail to balance between ‘what is available’ and ‘what can be achieved’. And surely, we are not into the right direction.

We published a story couple of days ago about the registrations of ESEA League Season 22 which also offered an opportunity to the winner of the league to get a slot at IEM Oakland and a $50,000 LAN finals happening later this year.

The piece got 1200+ hits but unfortunately nobody took it seriously or rather presumed it ‘not so important’ and moved on. What’s shocking is, even though few of the companies and eSports organization in India which are trying to create an ecosystem for gamers and the community to offer shelter, top tier teams are not taking things seriously instead they only want to compete in rather ‘large’ events and not the consistent ones.

To answer the defense of the league being ‘expensive’ (roughly $20), it is quiet naive to say the least, when one can travel all across the country from one place to another, and wouldn’t commit to spend $40 to play and participate in an online event with all of the top teams in your region and gaining experience from them. When teams like TyLoo, MongolZ, nxl are participating in the event, top Indian sides had a chance to compete with the best and observe some positive and inspirational vibes from the rosters who are well off dedicated than us.

esea season 22 list

Check out the stats of the participating teams;

Out of the 52 participating teams, 4 are from Korea, 6 from Malaysia, 5 from Japan around 8 or more from Singapore and a couple of from China and Vietnam even, what lacks in Indians to get themselves together and persuade participation?

Team Brutality, who were the finalists in the ESEA Season 21 managed to get us smallest of recognition on a stranger neighborhood, even then we were not able to get inspired? I mean, If today even if a company or government ministry interests to recognize us as a developing community, can we prepare and present facts upfront on what actually have we achieved? The answer is plain and simple, no. We do not have any other professional competitive team in our country other than Brutality, no matter how much we fight within ourselves. We do have some inconsistent rosters formed temporary but not as certain to be continued for a longer period. And we do not deserve to blame or complain about lack of sponsorship because even they want to see the competitive scene when it concerns about breaking banks.

TyLoo, which made whole of Asia proud at Malmo is also a participant in the league, what are the odds what Brutality will face them in any level of the league? Certainly not zero. How would Indian teams benefit from participating? They would have been able to play against the team which defeated the world’s best Counter Strike: Global Offensive team, Luminosity and knocked them out of the tournament.

What are our future endeavors?

So some of the top rosters including, MxB, Scorchers, Overcome, InvisibleWings and much more of the tier 1 belt, what is their aimset? If you want to see eSport and competitive gaming as your career ahead in the future then you got to be consistent in playing and keep yourself improving.

If you can travel around the country in different states all-together to compete in event, even then it is way more inexpensive to play an online tournament with collectives of incentives. This is not to mock anybody on their personal arrangements but a reminder to wakeup and start taking things seriously if you want to see the sport growing.

While talking to the community veteran and the IGL of Brutality, Ankit ‘V3nom ‘ Panth, he also shared his mutual grief, burdened even by the number of targets they need to lock before pledging themselves into this;

The only thing that disappoints us is that we have no support from our fellow Indian teams and have to be the sole bearer of the Indian flag. Whereas you will see multiple teams from Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, China etc participating in the league and trying to make their nation proud. We all know there is only going to be 1 winner but all these teams are not scared of losing so why does India only have us ? Even we had a rough start in season 18 of ESEA but that didn’t make us quit. We made it to top 16 then top 8 and last season were the runners up. The Indian teams who are ignoring this should know that you are missing on a big opportunity. I have said this many times and ill say it again that fighting against each other and winning in India wont do any good. Maybe your sole aim is to defeat Indian teams and just win Indian events. What after you do that ? You will be happy for 2 days maximum and promote yourself as a winner everywhere but you should understand that at one point even the community will wants us to perform outside our territory. There are teams like mxb, overcome, invisible wings and many more who are doing well in the indian circuit, why not enter the Asian scene now. I didn’t say scorchers because i know they wanted to register but missed on the timing. We have to move out of our comfort zones and challenge the world or at least try doing something that we can feel proud of. We have to move as a unit supporting each other. Even we were scared when we entered Esea Asian league for the first time in Season 18. We were thrashed but that didn’t make us stop, we continued trying and here we are, proudly calling ourselves the runners up of ESEA Season 21. If we can do it, anyone can. We anyways don’t get much opportunities to play these Asian teams so we should make the most of the chances that are given to us.

Why Team Brutality has to be the only one hoisting our flag in Asia-Pacific region, despite so much growth of the community within? We understand about the tier 2 teams who have inconsistent rosters but what about the rest of the front-runners?

The only questions is why Brutality has to knock down all the neighboring opponents and no one else to accompany them on their way? Share your thoughts so that I know of not barking at the wrong tree.
