World Esports championship Jakarta

This is the first time that ‘CS:GO’ has been selected as an official title for IeSF’s e-Sports World Championships. CS:GO is one of the most popular games in Indonesia, the host country of the 8th IeSF World Championship.

League of Legends was previously the official title for the 7th e-Sports World Championship – Seoul 2015. IeSF and Riot Games agreed to limit participating players to amateur players, who have not participated in LCS or LOL Semi Pro events in 2016 in order to expand LOL amateur base world-wide.

Hearthstone has again been selected as an official title for the third consecutive year from the 6th e-Sports World Championship, Baku (2014) until the 8th e-Sports World Championship, Jakarta (2016). In the 7th e-Sports World Championship, Milos Perovic, Hearthstone player from Serbia, led his country to become the overall champion by winning 1st place in Hearthstone.

IeSF World Championship is the only international e-Sports competition based on nationality. The 7th World Championship held in Seoul, Korea boasted 180 participants from 33 countries, and the overall champion was Serbia. Indonesia participated in the host city bidding process of the 8th IeSF World Championship and IeSF Board Members reviewed all the host city candidates for 8th e-Sports World Championship. After reviewing all of the candidates, IeSF Board selected Jakarta, Indonesia as the host city for 8th e-Sports World Championship. Member nations of IeSF which participate IeSF World Championship will hold National Qualifiers to qualify players who represent their countries.

The total prize pool is 54,000 USD, which is broken down to 20,000 USD for each team title, 4,000 USD for the individual title, and 10,000 USD for overall champion nation. According to the performance of each National Federation and quality of national qualifying rounds, IeSF will be supporting 200,000 USD for athlete travel.

8th e-Sports World Championships 2016 will be held from 6th to 9th of October, 2016 in Ancol Beach Auditorium, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Brutality wins over Scorchers 2-0 in the first ever NVIDIA India FPS Battle series

2

NVIDIA India kicked off with a latest series, FPS Battles which featured two top Indian teams battling it out for the pride where Team Brutality beat Team Scorchers with a 2-0 (16-2 in de_overpass and 16-10 on de_mirage) strong board in a best-of-three match-up.

We witnessed an amazing series of maps between India’s top two CS:GO teams with outcome of Team Brutality coming out on top of the best-of-three arrangement. Significantly, this was one of the unique battles which was supported and organized by NVIDIA India with SoStronk servers adding up the cheese. The match was casted by the CS:GO community veteran Bleh, joined in by casual streamer Captain Arya.

Team Brutality was playing with, V3nom, RiX, Ad1, fox and Excali as a stand-in. And on the other side, Scorchers had their full lineup after they recently got a new player, the lineup, Ace, Manan, MithilF, PokerF and Ribbiz.

The first map, de_overpass was started well off with Brutals taking the pistol and the following rounds with ease having no players dead on anti ecos and were comfortably able to grab another couple of rounds, the scorelines headed towards 4-0. Shockingly though, PokerF pulled of a massive play with a P250 taking down three Brutal riflers back-to-back which helped Scorchers gain their first round on the board. They couldn’t follow it up and Brutality were able to eventually come back stronger in the sixth round. MithilF’s strong presence on B site charmed some stars but only to make it look darker when V3nom replied back with two quick kills taking the round back under control before stronking a 6-1 comfortable lead. With a followup beautiful 1v2 clutch by Excali which even steered the scoreboard 7-1.

Ace however, after lots of hard-work and made convincing attempts to carry his team, was unfortunate to do so even with him going massive on certain rounds. The score on the first half ended up with Scorchers winning only two rounds which were the only rounds they won in the whole map and Brutality clinched the victory comfortably with a 16-2 scoreline led by the stand-in Excali who showed us some quality CS:GO shots!

The second map started with a different tone with Scorchers getting off the mark very first round with additional followups but only later denied by Excali once again who took a massive triple kill in an eco rounds, the first round for Brutality. They won the second and the following round which destroyed Scorchers economy, forcing them to eco on the fifth round with scores tied 2-2. There was no looking back for Brutals henceforth a 7-2 strong lead before the first phase. The first half concluded on a regular 9 round lead for the counter terrorists, with Scorchers hoping to win the pistol to bring it back from 6-9 in their favor. The second half of the game was even more reluctant on Scorchers part as they were being completely denied by Brutals, V3nom took the charge for the map only to rip off the opponents in a fashionable way, leading duals, clutches triples and quad kills, V3nom made his presence felt in the second map, steered his team to success on the second map with 16-10 and in a much stronger way.

Overall, Nvidia India FPS Battles did turn out to be successful with 200+ concurrent viewers on the stream and over thousands of impressions and interactions. Scorchers had all the support from the CSGO fans in India, unfortunately they couldn’t please the base. It seemed quiet a few times that they had communication problems, however their individual performances did impress the audiences as they had an exciting Friday evening experience from the likes of Ace and PokerF, and were done for today. Brutality all-together came-up as a team even though with 2 stand-ins to win the first ever Nvidia India FPS Battle series comfortably with 2-0 figures, declining the need of a third map whatsoever. And Bleh, who deploys eargasm to the viewers!

We thank Nvidia India for hosting the party and SoStronk which served meals, without their awesome tech the fest wouldn’t have been possible.

WESA’s first exit, FaZe Clan calls it quit

0

As reported by IGN, FaZe Clan is all set to follow an exit from the very controversial organization, World Esports Association – WESA. The exit comes after the team was forced to sign an agreement of exclusivity which would bar them from participating else where, hence the exit.

What more shocking is, the organization which took a bold turn and played against the odds were reportedly fined $50,000 for penalties as they didn’t show consent towards WESA.

World Esports Association

FaZe Clan was among the several other top tier organizations who were being called as the founding members of the World Esports Association. The coming week, FaZe would officially affirm their departure after confirming the same with WESA acting commissioner, Petro Fringuelli. This comes after ESL, the brainchild being WESA was forcing organizations to sign up the exclusive agreements before FaZe showed disagreements.

From Reddit community even, things weren’t looking stronger from the very beginning, they were raised eyebrows ever since the WESA launch prototype image was reportedly leaked. The question however remains about the remaining members of the association on how they will be moving ahead with this exclusivity if the reports are meant to be true.

The impact of Big Four audit firms in eSports market research

0

The global eSports market is at peak, companies are investing and gamers are participating. Everything is going into the right direction. The prize-pool distributed across the whole eSports industry amounted to $65 million in the year 2015. According to the marketing and research intelligence companies like Newzoo and SuperData, the enormous growth recorded to be gradually growing at a healthy and steady rate.

Everyday when people tend to recognize the word eSports and discus the market size, the figures are in billions and time period in not more than couple of years from now.

Esports market research

Reporting and analysis are the business tools to determine the status of the industry and market size. Earlier, when PwC reported the massive revenue potential in the Esports industry which was over $500 million, market strategists and researchers were given an opportunity to reconcile the factual figures to assure the enormous developing industry to the masses.

“Esports is reaching some kind of tipping point.” “eSports: Bigger and smaller than you think”

Deloitte’s Director of research in Technology and Media, Duncan Stewart called eSports market research as “all over the place”,they also added “esports advocates overestimate the current market size” which was definitely a blow to the industry with millions of fan followings and billions of content on the frontline.

Up until now, it’s been only a couple of pages. But what if the Big Four really start digging into esports? Chris Lederer, who was involved in the creation of the PwC report, stated that

“Large professional service companies are now covering, talking and consulting on the esports business. Lots of global players start to enter. We hear our own clients talk about it. I would say it makes a story.”

Is it the beginning of the “Big Four of esports”? It very well could be. For smaller-scale specialists like Newzoo and SuperData, it means a remarkable amount of competition. There is no comfort zone anymore; there is no guaranteed publicity.

KPMG, E&Y, Deloitte and pwc might enter into Esports market research

Esports is an extremely one of a kind business sector, however. Brands from more conventional organizations happen to commit a considerable measure of errors when they first enter the stage. Just as of late, it was Bud Light’s crusade declaration that left us with only destructive weariness. Also, the same is valid for PwC’s and Deloitte’s reports. Rather than truly sparkling a light available, both organizations viewed themselves as fulfilled by an exhausting wrap up of what was—pretty much—definitely known.

Indeed, Deloitte shook things up a little with their theory of esports being “greater and littler than you might suspect.” And yes, PwC’s study which asserted that a bigger number of ladies are included in esports than men was useful for a ton of features. Be that as it may, in the more noteworthy plan of things, both reports scarcely touched the most superficial layer.

That doesn’t imply that one of the Big Four wouldn’t be fit for understanding a strong esports study. Deloitte and PwC utilize somewhere in the range of 200,000 experts around the world. Both create income of more than $30 billion every year. It would lift esports statistical surveying to another level. It would be a distinct advantage simply like when previous NBA player Rick Fox purchased a spot in the LCS, ESPN established an esports vertical, or TBS reported their own particular League.

In the standard keep running of things, developing specialty markets—which have been ruled by expert organizations until then—as soon as possible pull in the huge cash. All of a sudden, since quite a while ago settled brands enter the space and claim their domain. Whether it’s expert groups, media associations, or business sector knowledge organizations, the pattern is self-evident: huge fish eat little fish.

All you need to know about World Esports Association – WESA

2

Earlier today, an image was posted by a Reddit user (now deleted his account), which seemed to be a back-drop for some announcement being ruled out by an organization, or firmly association called WESA, abbreviated, World Esports Association. The image was leaked prior to the announcement by the printer who was given the job-work, unfortunately he leaked something which wasn’t supposed to be made public that way, out of excitement.

Although this is still unclear about what WESA will actually do, the presumption can be made upon the involvements of the biggies and the association title.

World Esports Association

From what the name suggests to be, association is “a connection or cooperative link between people or organizations. ” which in simpler form means, a group of people organized for a joint purpose. The purpose maybe something to do with events, companies, participation and could be sponsors as well. World Esports Association can also be defined as a resistant organization and group of people which, if collaborate or agree to each other, will not be able to adhere and do business elsewhere.

From what we could derive from the leaked image, it has names of some of the world’s biggest eSports organizations, ESL, fnatic, Na’vi, Virtus.Pro, HellRaisers, mousesports, Ninjas In Pyjamas, and EnVyUs. Astralis has been left out due to unknown reasons.

What possibly will be the role of WESA

An organization or an association of this level with some of the world’s biggest organization as their committers will surely be very powerful. A representative of the association will have the powers in decision making in every terms. For an instance, if ESL organizes a WESA-limited event, no teams other than the WESA-supported ones will be able to participate in the event and it also goes vice-versa. The WESA cooperated teams and organizations might as well not be allowed to participate elsewhere or other events organized by non-ESL management.

This kind of barrier and its relentless operations will limit the community in a specified dimensions which will be under control of WESA. With absence of Valve’s interference and community discussions, the organizations and the law makers at WESA would possibly have the control over all of the participating organization with their mutual consent.

Disgraceful and unethical move

Not only on Reddit and its threads, perhaps the community heavy weights are also expecting something which will not be healthy and worthy for future of the game since everything will be limited and entitled to the decision makers of WESA. In other words, the game, organizers, participants will be entering into a political venture which will be under the control of the association and everything.. without the game possessor, Valve.

WESA’s response

Old eLeVeN on a break, EHOME left with four man Roster

The recent rumors of ‘eleven’ being kicked from team EHOME is been clarified by the Organisation as they announced that eleven is not kicked from the team.

Eleven decided to put up a break on his professional gaming carrier until the end of Ti6.

old elevenRen ‘eLeVeN’ Yangwei

Ehome’s Management Stated:

“Due to his grandfather’s recent health issues, along with his own personal desire, eLeVeN has chosen to take a break until after TI6 in order to spend time with family and recharge. Since joining EHOME, he’s been a great contributor and friend and we support his decision no matter what it is. When the time comes, eLeVeN will be welcomed back into the EHOME family fully. ”

Source : Ehome’s Twitlonger

The reason for elevens decision to take a break till the end of ti6 is also because of their recent performance which lead them in a position of not qualifying for big LAN events and even failing to qualify for the The Manila Majors.

Eleven also stated that he will return back to the scene after TI6 and most likely to the same team.

Old Eleven Leaves for a break, Ehome Left with 4 man roster.

Due to Eleven’s departure, Ehome is now left with 4 players. The organisation will soon announce the last member of team who will play as a stand in for team team during the absence of their position one (Carry) player i.e Old Eleven.

As Ehome did not register any substitute player on the Valve’s team registration, departure of “Old eleven” from team will result in the loss of opportunity from getting direct invites at TI6. As the rules states disqualification of any organisation that changes roster after 27th of March. Ehome now have to either transfer a player from another team, Or look up for the free agents to complete their roster to participate in further tournaments during course of Old Elevens break

EHOME current roster:

Ren ‘eLeVeN‘ Yangwei
Wang ‘old chicken‘ Zhiyong
Daryl Koh ‘iceiceice‘ Pei Xiang
Zhang ‘LaNm‘ Zhicheng
