How Esports Events Look To Shape Next Year

The eSports industry has changed drastically over the last few years. If you want to make sure that you are keeping up with the times or if you are interested in seeing how things are going to change in the future, then simply look below.

Smaller Tournaments

One way that eSports is going to change is through smaller tournaments. Games such as Rocket League have been able to have their biggest play count so far, and this is happening across a huge range of consoles. At the end of the day, companies are going to try and capitalize on this. Just a few years ago, setting up an eSports event would be costly.

You would have to make sure that you have tons of sponsors on board, and you would also need people to buy a pass so that prize money can be set up. You don’t have to do this anymore because companies are going to start sponsoring tournaments so that they can take place more easily. The prizes will be lower, but the competition will be just as fierce.

The Esports Industry is Going to Get a Boost via Fantasy & Betting

The eSports industry is getting bigger year on year. There are a few major changes happening and it wouldn’t be surprising to see betting getting bigger too. This is going to have a huge impact on the industry because more and more people will become interested in it as it becomes much more mainstream. This will help to lead to a huge amount of rapid growth.

On top of this, it may even be that online casinos start offering more options for customers with regards to betting on eSports.

Streaming Only

At some point, it’s safe to assume that some of the bigger tournament organizers will come to the conclusion that they have to make ends meet. As a result of this, it’s expected that a lot of them are going to ditch the concept of having an arena.

They are going to run online tournaments only and although this wouldn’t generate them as much cash, it would certainly pave the way to having way more of an online audience.

Patches

Normally when tournaments take place, meta changes also happen. The meta is going to remain the same, in fact, the only company that is actively trying to change the meta for the games that they have would be Blizzard and Activision.

Overwatch is also putting in the work to try and make some changes too, but the rest of them are keeping things the same. People may get bored but at the same time, people may go on to become better at the game itself, which is very interesting, to say the least.

Only time will tell what the future holds for gaming, but right now it would seem that the changes that are being made are certainly for the better and that it’s going to help eSports to be taken to that next level overall.
