Hades on Orangutan’s Valorant Lineup, Player Transfers, and More

Meta title: Hades, the head of Esports Organisation for Orangutan talks about how the int’l line-up was formed, it having a huge fan base already, and expectations for the team.

Orangutan has been in great shape recently and won their first Valorant match at the Skyesports Champions Series Chennai LAN Playoffs, and they are one win away from qualifying for stage 2 VCT APAC Challengers. Yesterday we had an opportunity to interview Vinay Rao, aka Hades, The head of esports operations for Orangutan.

Hades expressed joy about his newly made roster finding success even though the roster is new and international. He made the roster primarily to dethrone Velocity Gaming and Global Esports. For this, he decided to go international and find talent across Asian countries so that they could be the best in South Asia.

Hades said about Vibhor, “Vibhor was the last diamond to the crown”, implying that vibhor’s acquisition was a big deal for Orangutan. They always wanted to have vibhor on board, calling the team “a dream lineup” for him.

Hades also explained the Visa issues of shooteR, where the restrictions are limiting his presence, and it is expected he would be able to visit the Bootcamp in the next 4-6 weeks.

You can listen to the full interview here:

Upon being asked about the lineup’s success, Hades commented on how the results were somewhat unexpected for them. Still, the loss against velocity gaming helped them understand the gaps in their game upon which they improved, and the victories were fruits of hardwork by the team and support staff.

Hades elaborated on how he wishes to be the best in APAC with the Game Changers lineup, arguably the best Game Changers team from South Asia. He said they are trying new things and players and wish to grow as a team, understand their limitations, and eventually win against NA and EMEA game changers teams.

Orangutan is supposed to launch a Bootcamp soon, and it’s been in the works for a while. Hades, the whole support staff, and the players are excited about the launch.

Hades expressed his gratitude towards the fans for showering the lineup with love and how having an international lineup has helped them conquer fans’ hearts across the continent. The players are the reason Orangutan is such a massive name in South Asia.

Hades concluded the interview by thanking the tournament organisers and the media personnel who have helped showcase young and new talent and the Orangutan fans. They have brought them where they are.

Orangutan would face Enigma Gaming today for a spot in Stage 2 VCT APAC Challengers. They have already solidified themselves as a strong team, and winning today would mean they’d be one of the two representatives of South Asia in APAC. We wish them luck in all their future endeavours.
