Nintendo has sent waves of excitement to its fanbase with the announcement of Switch 2. While the second iteration of the console features a bunch of improvements over its predecessor, gamers and fans of the hero shooter genre from throughout the globe are eager to know—will Marvel Rivals be available on Switch 2?
Unfortunately, the developers have yet to confirm a Switch 2 port for Marvel Rivals. However, that doesn’t mean that you should lose hope just yet.
In a previous interview with IGN, NetEase has explored the possibility of Marvel Rivals arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Is Marvel Rivals Coming To Switch 2?
Given the demand for hero shooters on portable systems, a Switch 2 version of Marvel Rivals could be a real possibility in the future.
In the IGN interview, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu confirmed that the team has been actively working with Nintendo on development kits and they’re open to bringing the game to the console.
“And whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that,” Wei said. “The reason why we didn’t launch it onto the Switch, it was the first generation of that device they could not provide a great experience for our gameplay.”
For the uninitiated, the screen supports 1080p at up to 120 FPS in handheld mode, while docking unlocks 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS. With 256GB of built-in storage, the Switch 2 offers a significant upgrade over its predecessor.
With the highly anticipated Switch successor releasing on June 5th, console gamers will undoubtedly be looking forward to playing their favorite hero shooter on the new hardware.
