Ubisoft will bring Assassin’s Creed to mobile devices with jade, a brand new title from China. It takes place in 215 BC. This fills in the timeline between Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Origins. The game is designed to feel like a mainline entry with parkouring and all. There’s no release date quite yet and all Ubisoft has shown is the classic eagle-flying-over-a-settlement sequence.
One thing we know about Jade, is that it will allow you to create your character. This is a first in the series. Pricing and potential micro-transactions are not known.
Ubisoft tried to make Assassin’s Creed a thing for mobile devices almost as long as the series has been around. Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles was the first mobile entry. It was released for the Nintendo DS in 2008.
The iOS and Android versions followed the year. In 2007, the original Assassin’s Creed hit PlayStation 3 (and Xbox 360) in 2007. Although there have been a few mobile-first Assassin’s Creed titles since 2007, Ubisoft has not released any iOS or Android titles.
Ubisoft has begun developing a game that is based on the live-action series Assassin’s Creed. There’s also Assassin Creed Mirage which is the new mainline title, set in the Middle East.
