Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 is the first official esports event after the game got released exclusively for the players based in India. To reveal more information about the upcoming event, Krafton has launched a new show on its YouTube channel with the name “Chai Time”. The first episode featured Animesh Aggarwal, Abhijeet Andhare, and Ocean Sharma. BGIS 2021 features a massive prize pool of 1,00,00,000 INR which will be distributed among the top 16 grand finalist teams.
In this episode, Mazy, the caster of the show revealed “The Grind”. It is a two-week event, featuring 32 invited teams, that will serve as a practice session for the teams before the start of the major event. Although the names for the official event have not been announced by the organizers but we could expect to see the majority of the teams from this list playing in the online qualifiers.

Schedule and Format for BGIS 2021: The Grind
As revealed earlier, The 32 invited teams will be divided into 4 groups and will face off in a fierce round-robin format for 2 weeks. Week 1 will be held from December 2nd to 5th, while Week 2 will take place from December 9th to 12th. The teams will play for a total of 8 days in the upcoming two-week event.
