Krafton has raised the bar of Indian esports by providing the highest ever prize pool dedicated to a single tournament. The upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series Season One will have a humongous prize pool of ₹2 Crore($256,000) and a total of 24 teams fighting to take the lion’s share from it.
BMPS Season One is the next tournament in the BGMI Esports Season One roadmap and top teams within India, who have fought a long way through BMOC 2022, will finally have a chance to prove their worth in a month long tournament.
The overall prize pool of tournaments in India was not par with the money offered in other regions but in the last few years, the scenario has been changing. The launch of PUBG Mobile was a big turning point for Indian esports as India emerged as one of the major regions within its competitive ecosystem.
The prize money skyrocketed with the rising popularity of PUBG Mobile and soon, it reached ₹1 Crore mark before the game was banned. After a hiatus of almost 1.5 years, the competition is back in a new game called BGMI and the amount hasn’t decreased at all.
The first ever BGMI tournament matched the amount of ₹1 Crore and now, the money has been doubled for BMPS Season One.
This tournament is certainly worth the hype because most of the well-known teams are already out of this tournament, giving a chance to new rosters to shine.
