League of Legends: Wild Rift is a big hit in the mobile gaming market. It has established itself as one of the most prominent MOBA titles and Riot has not even released it globally. Wild Rift is currently in open beta stages for every major region except Americas and has been improving the game day by day. Riot Games has released a detailed structure of LOL Wild Rift patch schedule which will be released throughout the year.
Wild Rift team was forced to delay the full-fledged launch of this game due to the prevailing pandemic and as a result, the team postponed its operations for quite a long time. This led to a delayed testing globally but now, Wild Rift looks on a right track and has released the update schedule beforehand.
LOL: Wild Rift Patch Schedule for 2021
In an article, Riot Games has mentioned several dates for major Wild Rift Patches in 2021. These dates will be quite accurate and mini-patches and hotfixes are not included in this list. The entire patch series will be numbered as “2.x” for this year. The major dates are as follows:
Patch Number | Date |
2.1 | 2nd February 2021 |
2.2 | 30th March 2021 |
2.3 | 1st June 2021 |
2.4 | 3rd August 2021 |
2.5 | 5th October 2021 |
2.6 | 7th December 2021 |
This schedule gives a clear idea on when players can expect new patches with big changes. As the minor updates are not included and Riot plans to release at least two new champions per month, we can expect small tweaks, balance changes and champion updates in the small patches itself.
The major updates might cover big event launches, new feature additions, major meta shifts and other such updates which will alter the game in many ways. Although none of this is officially confirmed for now, we will see the actual trend with the first big patch on 2nd February.
Two confirmed new champions will hit the Rift and as many champions are defining the current meta, we might see some nerfs of Kennen, Teemo and such impactful champions with this update.
