Wild Rift Patch 2.5B delayed due to Horizon Cup

Riot Games has decided not to implement the balance changes included in the new Wild Rift Patch 2.5B until Horizon Cup ends. The new additions like events, skins and champions are retained but gameplay changes and additional features have not been upgraded till the end of this tournament.

Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 is the first ever international tournament in the Wild Rift esports circuit. This LAN tournament will bring in the best teams from around the world to compete for a massive prize pool of half million dollars.

The developers usually push new patches according to the schedule and the balance changes are employed in each mini update. This includes multiple buffs and nerfs alongside some gameplay changes as well. Riot Games has decided to not push balances changes of the latest Patch 2.5B until the tournament concludes.

This decision is apparently taken on the basis of the fact that minor changes can also affect champions and their playstyle and pushing a new patch right before the tournament will not give the teams enough time to adjust with the changes.

Riot Games has still decided to continue pushing in the rest of entertainment content in the game. They are currently promoting the launch of their new animated series Arcane and related content can already be seen in Wild Rift. Other major additions like Jayce and Caitlyn are retained as well.

The Horizon Cup starts from 13th November at Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore and will run for a week. Balance changes of this new patch could be employed as soon as this tournament ends.
