$40 Million! DotA 2 The International Prize Pool Peaks New High

With only 10 minutes to spare on the clock, The International 10 prize pool managed to cross the mark of $40 million just before it ended on September 10th.

This year’s Battle Pass was undoubtedly the best Battle Pass the Dota community has received till date. With a jaw-dropping rewards line consisting of three Arcanas and two hero personas, fans didn’t hesitate to spend a good chunk from their wallets to get the exclusive items from the Battle Pass.

Besides items, the 2020 Battle Pass also brought with it a number of unique features like the Guilds, Cavern Crawn, or the Aghanim’s Labyrinth game mode which received praise from fans worldwide.

It goes without saying that the Dota 2 community has created history once again, making TI10 not only the tournament with the biggest prize pool of all time, but the first esports tournament with a prize pool of over a whopping $40 million.

For the unaware, The International is the annual Dota 2 tournament and one of the biggest annual tournaments in the entire esports industry. The prize pool of TI is primarily crowdfunded, with 25% of all the Battle Pass sales adding to the base prize pool of $1.6 million by Valve.
