According to a report by 1pv.fr, Team Vitality have to search for a new in-game-leader because Alex “ALEX” McMeekin intends to head towards the bench. 24-year-old joined Team Vitality in December 2018 when he replaced Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer. He has cited personal reasons behind the appalling decision. English tactician does not intend to travel frequently while Team Vitality will attend six events in the next four months. The second half of 2020 is heavily stacked with simultaneous events.
Alex’s departure from active lineup could apparently establish leadership and IGL void within the French roster. His decision to move away comes in a little prior to commencement of ESL Pro League S11. However, Vitality’s recent outings does not display a ray of success with 7th-9th place at BLAST Premier Spring and 9th-12th place at recently held IEM Katowice. The lineup has further slipped to 9th position in Hltv’s global rankings.
The report further revealed that Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss is the probable prospect to replace Alex. 24-year-old is currently playing for LDLC Gaming. With Alex’s departure and if Ali’s signing comes to fruition, Team Vitality’s roster will be:
- Dan “apEX” Madesclaire
- Cédric “RpK” Guipouy
- Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
- Richard “shox” Papillon
- Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss
- Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam (Coach)
