When the second major was announced to be held in Rio, that too an IEM, fans could not hold their excitement. Brazil is one of the most CS-loving nations in the world, and having a major that to an IEM would be a big boost to the scene.
Europe and North America concluded the qualifier for the said major with some big names failing to make it through. The Swiss format qualifier saw some of the underdogs take down veterans as well as favorites to be Rio bound themselves next month.
Starting on 31st October, the festival of CSGO will be a 2-week event where teams will categorize according to their RMR results. 16 teams will fight it out in the Challengers and Contenders phase and the 8 to make it out will have to go up against the Legends i.e. teams with a 3-0 record in the RMR.
