There are few people on the internet who haven’t heard of ‘Among Us’ – the newest trend of 2020. The murder-mystery game of stealth and deception has managed to garner an insane amount of popularity over the past few months, thanks to some big streamers who picked up the game towards the end of July.
The popularity of the game grew to such an extent that the United States Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to stream Among Us in attempts to spread awareness among the youth on the importance of voting.
However, Among Us being a casual game doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s free from cheaters and hackers. Due to the game not having a decent anti-cheat system, some players often resort to cheating to get free wins and ruin the game for other players.
Eric Loris is one such player, who has found a way to boot all the existing players in a lobby out of the game while sending them a mildly threatening message.
The issue has gone viral on Reddit recently. “If you come across a player named Eris Loris in Among Us then ban them immediately,” says Reddit user u/HereticStream. “I was just in a game with them and they forced everyone in the lobby to text this message and it then immediately disconnected everyone. This is their YouTube channel with evidence that they wrote the hack”
While the Redditor isn’t sure if the hack spreads to other computers, he recommends a complete uninstall and reinstall of Among Us to wipe the problem clean.
