Krafton Inc, the parent company of PUBG Corp. has appointed Aneesh Aravind as the Country Head for India. He has worked with Tencent for a long time and now has shifted to Krafton to oversee the operations in the Indian region. This news was revealed by his own LinkedIn post.
This is a positive but needed development in the story of PUBG Mobile India. The game is on a hiatus for the past three months and even with many other leads, it is awaiting the approval of MeitY before its complete launch in the country.
Krafton had announced their plans during the official announcement of the return of PUBG Mobile in India. After revealing that India will have their own version of the game, they went on to reveal that a regional office will be set up to overlook the operations in the country.
Alongside this, Krafton promised to invest a huge amount of $100M in the country and appoint a staff of over 100 employees in the process. This large amount would be used in the developments of several other sectors and mainly for the PUBG Mobile esports ecosystem.
After the announcement of Aneesh Aravind, PUBG Corp. officially registered its Indian subsidiary under the name of PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. and now, a regional head is appointed, most probably for this office.
This development may be positive for the operations and logistics of PUBG Mobile India but in no way implicate that the launch date of the game is near. The approval is still pending and the game will only return after that.
