Indian Valorant Pro Antidote Steps Back From Esports

Indian esports veteran Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose has made a surprising announcement of stepping down from competitive Valorant esports. Notably, in the announcement post on his social media handles, he did not reveal the reason behind taking such an extreme step . However, he promised to reveal the reasons behind his decision soon through a live session.

Valorant Player Antidote Steps Back From Esport Due to Undisclosed Reasons

In the announcement post, Antidote wrote a heartfelt message. “Hello everyone! So the news is out and yes I’m taking a step back right now because of so so many reasons. I know some of you are happy but most of my people are sad and kinda shocked with this announcement. I promise to come online soon and truly tell you the reasons and rip some haters. Thanks to my team and fans.” he wrote.

One of the true OGs of the Indian esports scene, Antidote began his journey with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) back in 2016. Later, with a new opportunity on the horizon, he decided to switch to freshly-released Valorant after its launch in 2020. Carrying forward his CS:GO legacy, he started strong with Velocity Gaming, and quickly established himself as one of the best players in the eports scene. However, the years 2021 and 2022 proved challenging, where he changed his teams multiple times. Although he made a comeback in 2023, his short stint with MLT Esports in 2024 did not yield any significant results.

While the competitive year may have been lackluster, Antidote’s sudden departure still comes as a surprise. Fans will eagerly await his promised live session, hoping to shed light on the “so so many reasons” behind his sudden decision. Will he also address the “haters” he mentioned? And more importantly, will this be a permanent farewell, or a temporary hiatus before a comeback? Only time will tell what the future holds for this veteran player.
