Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Among Us Streams Hit Over 500k Viewers

The US congresswoman organized the stream to raise awareness among young voters on the importance of voting in the upcoming elections.

On October 20th, US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hosted a historical ‘Among Us’ stream on Twitch which saw a concurrent viewer peak of over 500,000 across the channels.

AOC’s stream featured several popular streamers like Pokimane, Myth, Toast, moistcr1tikal and Hasanabi, who helped to make it the biggest Among Us stream since the launch of the murder-mystery game in 2018.

Needless to say, the viewers saw some hilarious moments unfold as the stream progressed. From AOC confidently blaming Toast for being the impostor only to be proven wrong a few seconds later to Pokimane feeling “honored” after being killed by AOC, the stream had everything that half a million viewers could’ve hoped for. In case you missed the stream, here are some highlights to cheer you up.

Within one day of creating her Twitch account, AOC reached a follower count of over 400,000. While fans want the congresswoman to continue her Among Us streams on Twitch, it’s unclear if she will do so again. In case she does decide to stream some more on the platform, it won’t take long for her to become one of the biggest streamers in Twitch history.

The event was a massive success, and this success might have paved the way for more of these exciting events. Soon after the historical Among Us stream concluded, GM Hikaru Nakaruma invited former US President Barack Obama to a game of Chess which will be streamed on Twitch to raise funds for the Joe Biden Victory Fund. While Obama hasn’t responded to the invite yet, it can easily be the most successful chess streams ever in case he does accept it.
