Apex Legends is coming to Mobile

With the success of PUBG Mobile and the recent launch of COD Mobile, EA is all set to jump in the action by releasing a mobile version for Apex Legends.

Released on Feb 4 to a huge surprise, the Battle Royale quickly garnered a lot of attention with user activity competing with the likes of Fortnite and PUBG. It currently claims to have over 70 million players, a feat achieved by few in the industry.

EA announced that in the fiscal year 2021, the game would be ready to migrate to a mobile version. Considering that a fiscal year begins in October, the next big competitor for the most popular mobile game could not be far away. They also announced plans to make this game compatible with the now announced PS5, as well as “Project Scarlett” of Microsoft, which could be the next installment of the XBOX.

EA Chief Executive Andrew Wilson said: “With the Apex Legends community now growing pass 70 million players, we’re focused on expanding to mobile new platforms and new geographies, as well as launching and Apex competitive gaming program that we’ll share details on soon.”

While EA still have not announced any support for cross play, they hope to add to their user base by making the game available in China. The next big bet of EA is right up their with FIFA and Battlefield.
