Apple has been notoriously infamous for being anti-gaming when it comes to their products but since the launch of the iPhone 15 pro, that narrative is beginning to change in ways we did not expect.
According to the latest reports, Apple has approved the entry of the first PC emulator, UTM SE for iOS, into the App Store, which is available for free across iPhones in certain regions.
You can run different Windows versions with UTM SE. This covers some versions of Linux and macOS in addition to Windows. Suffice it to say that all OS that can be run on said emulator will have the traditional limitations that come with a virtual machine.
According to reports:
- UTM SE will support both VGA mode for graphics and terminal mode for text-only operating systems
- Emulates x86, PPC, and RISC-V architectures
- It will run pre-built machines or create your configuration from scratch
- UTM SE has been built from QEMU, a powerful and widely used emulator
Apple has been rigid with its policies for the longest time and following governing bodies forcing them to implement changes, we might have more changes that open up their eco-system a little bit for users to enjoy the freedom they do with Andriod.
