Assassin’s Creed Origins was one of the highest-selling games in this year’s Steam Winter sale, and it’s high time for new players to explore ancient Egypt. However, a recent Windows update seems to be causing a few issues.
Right on the verge of the new year, Microsoft dropped Windows 11 Version 24H2, which focused on a handful of delta changes that did not seem to have caused any significant problems anywhere except for Assassins Creed Origins lagging, and crashing after being rendered unplayable.
The latest Windows 11 update seems to have completely broken the game to the point players have started taking the game’s reviews on Steam. From being one of the highest-rated games in the franchise, AC Origins now ranks below some of their less popular titles.
The developers have responded to the reviews and confirmed that the issue has been noted by them and they are currently working closely with Microsoft to quickly resolve the issue. However, a timeline for when players can expect a fix is not disclosed.
Now that the developers have confirmed that a fix is on the way, a new Windows update or a game update can be expected in the coming weeks. While AC Origins is quite a dated game, seeing so many active players speaks volumes of its impact on the gaming community.
