Astralis Extends Staehr’s Contract Until 2027 | CS2 News

The Danish CS2 organization locks in rifler Staehr, aiming to reclaim its dominance in the competitive scene.

Astralis, the renowned Danish Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) organization, has locked in rifler Victor “Staehr” Staehr with a contract extension running until mid-2027. Announced on March 18, 2025, this move ensures the 20-year-old remains a cornerstone of the team as they aim to reclaim their dominance in the competitive scene.

Staehr, who joined Astralis in June 2023 from Sprout, has proven himself as a vital supportive player. His extension follows a strong 2024 season, where he helped the team secure a third-place finish at PGL Cluj-Napoca and semi-final berths at IEM Chengdu and ESL Pro League Season 19. “We are in a great place as a team,” Staehr said in a statement to HLTV, emphasizing his desire to continue Astralis’ upward trajectory.

A Key Move for Astralis’ Future

The extension aligns with Astralis’ strategy of building long-term stability. Sports Director Kasper Straube highlighted Staehr’s importance, stating, “A player like Staehr is a priority for us.” With all current players now under contract for the coming years, the organization is poised to refine its roster and chase titles.

Since joining, Staehr has been praised for his talent. In 2023, teammate Nicolai “device” Reedtz called him “one of the best talents we’ve had in Denmark in five years.” This extension, coming just six months after device’s own renewal through 2026, signals confidence in the team’s core.

Staehr’s Impact on the Team

Staehr’s role as a rifler has bolstered Astralis’ gameplay, complementing stars like device and in-game leader Casper “cadiaN” Møller. While the team hasn’t lifted a major trophy since 2020, their recent performances suggest they’re closing the gap. Straube noted, “We’re not there yet, but we have the quality and mentality to compete for titles over time.”

The young Dane expressed optimism about the squad’s progress. “It’s been my clear priority to extend my contract so we can keep building,” he said. His commitment reflects a shared vision to return Astralis to its former glory.

What’s Next for Astralis?

With Staehr secured until 2027, Astralis can focus on upcoming events like BLAST Open Lisbon and PGL Bucharest. Fans hope this stability will translate into silverware soon. For now, this contract extension marks a significant step forward for the Danish powerhouse.
