BGMI Esports Might Get Transfer Window Periods, Says Mazy

The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports scene is grappling with instability marked by frequent player team changes and allegations of poaching, posing a threat to the game’s competitive growth. Popular caster Zishan “Mazy” Alam recently hinted at the possibility of potential implementation of two transfer windows annually. Additionally, he also discussed the benefits of implementing such a system.

Mazy Believes Two Transfer Windows Would Be Right for BGMI Esports Scene

The BGMI esports scene is currently facing instability characterized by frequent player team changes and accusations of poaching between teams. This volatility within the competitive landscape can disrupt the growth of the game’s esports ecosystem as a whole.

In a recent livestream, Mazy revealed that BGMI might get the system of two transfer windows per year before the commencement of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGIS) 2024. However, he emphasized that he wasn’t entirely sure about the news.  “There will be proper transfer windows where you can change your players, bring in new players, and it will be done properly. It means you can buy out a player and have them, or you can let them go by allowing someone else to buy them out. So hopefully this thing will be executed,” he added.

Considering the mentality of BGMI players, their age, and their professionalism, Mazy expressed his belief that two transfer windows per year would be the right approach. “Our players are still very young and take things personally very quickly. And when they take things personally, they don’t play well with the team, and when they don’t play well with the team, both the organization and the players suffer. Whenever there is a team game, you have to put your ego and other things aside a little. So according to me, having two transfer windows is right,” he added.

Mazy Envisions Transfer Window Impact on Tournament Integration

Moreover, Mazy suggested that the introduction of transfer window periods in BGMI esports could facilitate closer integration between official tournaments and third-party events. “Maybe if the transfer window is allowed twice a year, then perhaps we can link third-party tournaments to official tournaments. Because suppose a team is not performing well in official tournaments, but they are performing well in third-party tournaments. So if this transfer window situation is executed, you can link third-party events officially,” he added.
