Probably the most awaited mobile game for this year, Call of Duty: Mobile is finally getting an official release on 1st October and will be available as a free to play game for both Android and iOS. Activision has partnered with Tencent’s Timi studios and will bring all the familiar elements from the franchise to mobile devices while adding certain new elements that are common when it comes to mobile gaming.
The mobile version was teased back in March and pre registrations were opened. Call of Duty Mobile will feature a Battle Royale mode with 100 players on newly developed maps and since Tencent, the mind behind Player Unknown’s Battleground is the name behind this game as well, we can expect some top notch Battle Royale gameplay establishing this game as a direct competitor of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile. Players will also be able to get their hands on classic Call of Duty maps like Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked, Crossfire, Standoff, Crash, and Killhouse among others. The weapons and characters will be inspired from hit franchisees, Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Talking about game modes, there will be a wide variety of modes to play including Free-For-All, Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination. Call of Duty’s franchise is known for thrilling story lines and unparalleled character developments and the mobile version will retain certain characters like Alex Mason, Thomas Merrick, and Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley.
Call of Duty is also known for its detailed weapon system which offers life like physics and audio quality and the same can be expected for the mobile version, giving the players a huge arsenal of weapons to choose from. There will also be an upgrade system with various weapon parameters like fire rate, damage, and more will also be available. Accessory items like grenades and will also be available. Players will also be able to choose between weapon skills to enhance the game play and here are a few announced skills: Purifier (flamethrower), War Machine (grenade launcher), Death Machine (minigun), Transform Shield (deformable shield), Sparrow (bow), and Tempest (electrical bolt rifle).
Tencent has developed an intricate control system for the game offering the players a choice between a Simple Mode with automatic firing at enemies, and Advanced Mode with manual firing and more fine-tuned controls such as weapon grip, hip firing, etc. Under the settings tab, players can tweak 17 sliders to tweak the sensitivity as per their preferences giving them complete control over their aim.
Call of Duty is often deemed as the perfect esports game hence we are excited to see how the mobile esports scene shifts with the official release of this masterpiece.
