Call Of Duty: Mobile made $480 Million in revenue as the game turns a year old

COD Mobile just turned a year old on 30th Sept. With more than 270 million downloads worldwide through Google Playstore and Apple’s App Store, the game still remains very popular among players and generated close to $500 million in its 1st year.

According to reports by Sensor Tower, COD: Mobile has generated more than $480 million in revenue since its launch a year ago. The U.S. is the biggest market of the game with more than 50 million installs alone had generated close to 45% of the global revenues amounting to a staggering $215 million. Only Brazil and India came in second and third respectively in terms of downloads.

According to Sensor Tower, COD: Mobile ranks 3rd in terms of revenue generated by any shooter game in the U.S. between Oct. 1, 2019, to Sept. 30, 2020. PUBG: Mobile ranks 1st followed by Fortnite Mobile. Further, the report predicts that with Fortnite leaving the Gooogle Playstore COD: Mobile will gain 2nd position and hold onto it comfortably throughout the year.

The reports also highlight the importance of the Chinese market for these games to earn revenue. With COD: Mobile to soon release in China, the revenue will further be strengthened and next year the game will be in a better position revenue-wise. The game has already been approved by China’s gaming regulator and will undergo a final test on Oct. 20.

As soon as the game launches in China, Activision will bring a huge update to CoD: Mobile later this month to celebrate the game’s first anniversary. The update will feature the most anticipated season 11 update, the contents of which have been kept a secret.
