Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6 patch 1.27 arrives early on PS4

In a similar fashion to Season 5 update, PlayStation is allowing its users to pre-load the upcoming Season 6 update ahead of the worldwide launch on 29th Sept.


According to players on PS4, the update rolled out across the PS4 platform for some users overnight on 27th Sept while for some the pre-load will be arriving tonight i.e. 28th Sept. The new update contains the patch version 1.27 and is a 20GB download.

Although players can only install the update 29th Sept with the worldwide release on other platforms i.e.  Xbox One and PC.

According to COD MW 1.27 patch notes, the latest update will add support for Season 6 contents and resolve some issues related to a glitch, crash, matchmaking improvements, and more. Apart from this, version 1.27 also includes some underhood changes to improve the performance and stability of the game. The full patch notes will be available only after the worldwide release.

How to preload Modern Warfare Season 6 on PS4

For Users who have PlayStation Plus and Automatic Downloads enabled on their PlayStation 4, the pre-download will begin automatically as long as the PlayStation 4 is turned on or in Rest Mode.

For Users with Automatic Downloads disabled, or PlayStation 4 turned off, follow the steps below to manually initiate the pre-download:

  1. Highlight the Modern Warfare or Warzone tile on the PlayStation 4 home screen.
  2. Press the Options button.
  3. Select Check for Updates.
  4. The PS4 system should find the update and pre-download it ready to install on 29th Sept.
  5. Head to your Downloads tab to double-check.
