Chaos Esports club have officially added Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen, to their DOTA 2 roster, after a lot of teasing and leaks.
Only yesterday, Chaos Esports Club had tweeted a video of Misery with MATUMBAMAN’s iconic TI winning shorts.
Today, Chaos have announced that they have acquired MATUMBAMAN’s services for upcoming TI qualifiers and future events.
In a press release, CEO of Chaos E.C. Greg Laird, regarding the acquisition:
This time of the year is always chaotic and we are constantly in search of veteran talent to help guide and foster growth among the younger talent on our teams. Matumbaman is a rare example of such talent, bringing with him a world-class record of achievement and a wealth of experience. Welcome to the team, Lasse, we are lucky to have you. I am excited to watch you #CreateChaos.
As of now, Chaos E.C. line-up consists of MATUMBAMAN and team captain Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen.
Rest of the line-up is uncertain. According to the official DPC website and app, William “hFn k3” Medeiros was removed from the Chaos Dota 2 roster, but no formal announcement has been made.
Chaos had fielded a mix line-up for the Epicenter Qualifiers, but the team failed to make it out of the open qualifiers. There have no updates about the team’s future since then, nor have they played any official games together.
As we wait, for Chaos E.C. to announce the complete roster, let’s all wish MATUMBAMAN good luck with his new team.
