CSGO pro Coldzera Tests Positive For Coronavirus

After taking a toll on the competitive CSGO scene, the COVID-19 pandemic is starting to affect the professional players.

Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David is tested positive for CODVID-19, the Brazilian announced on his Instagram story.

The announcement comes following FaZe Clan’s victory against OG in the opening match of IEM Beijing EU, however, the celebrations were put to halt as their IGL was tested positive.

Cold is somewhat known to have a flamboyant lifestyle, as we find him in parties and clubs more often than not. It is unclear that if those habits led Cold to this condition or it was something else, but anyway he must undergo 14 days of self-isolation unless his health deteriorates upon which he must be admitted to health care facilities.

The Brazilian’s Instagram story read ‘yeah covid you got me’ meaning the obvious.

Neither the player nor the org has published a statement addressing Cold’s availability for their upcoming matches. The 26-year-old has been playing from his home in Serbia, and unless he faces serious health challenges he is likely to continue to play.

Should he chooses to get admitted to any hospital, FaZe Clan will be at a disadvantage again, having replaced NiKo with Olof, and Cold taking over the IGL role, they must look for yet another stand-in to fill the void.

Judging by cold’s strong personality, it will be tough, even for Covid to keep him away from the action. We pray for his swift recovery and hope to see him and FaZe back at the top where they belong. Cold’s next match is set to take place on 8th November, an upper bracket semi-final in IEM Beijing EU against Vitality. If coldzera misses the match, things are looking grim for FaZe.
