CS2 Premier Season 2: M4A4 Price Drop, Map Pool Updates & More

M4A4 users, rejoice! Valve has officially confirmed price reductions for the M4A4, along with the FAMAS in their competitive shooter Counter-Strike 2. Additionally, the devs have revealed the start date for Premier Season 2 in CS2, sparking excitement within the game’s community for what lies ahead.

The news was confirmed by Valve in a recent blog post titled ‘Seasons Change’. The announcement sheds light on the start date of Premier Season 2 alongside a bunch of other changes coming to the game including an adjustment to the Active Duty map pool.

CS2 Premier Season 2 Announced

As already confirmed by Valve, CS2 Premier Season 2 will officially launch in late January 2025.

Players who participated in Premier Season 1 will receive a commemorative medal displaying detailed season statistics, which can be viewed by clicking on the medal in their inventory.

The transition to Season 2 will see the Premier matchmaking going down for a day, following which players’ CS ratings will be recalibrated based on their Season 1 performance. To get a new CS rating, they will have to win 10 games after Season 2 kicks off.

Train Replaces Vertigo in CS2 Premier Season 2

The second season of Premier in CS2 will see a change to the active competitive map pool.

Train, which was added to the game after a major revamp on November 14, 2024, will officially replace Vertigo in the Premier map pool—a change Valve has been hinting at for quite some time.

M4A4, FAMAS Price Reduced in Premier Season 2

One of the most impactful changes in the upcoming update that’s certain to shake up the meta is the price reduction for the M4A4 and FAMAS.

In addition to the price cut, the FAMAS will also see some improvements to its standing and crouching accuracy.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the developers confirmed that the price of the M4A4 will now match that of the M4A1-S at $2,900.

As mentioned earlier, the new season of Premier is all set to roll out next week. With map pool changes, weapon adjustments, and the start of Premier Season 2, players have plenty to look forward to.
