Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup 2024: All Invited and Qualified Teams

Esports World Cup 2024 is a hot topic among the gaming community, especially among players of the 15 titles involved. Counter Strike 2 happens to be one of the games that will be played, with the event running between 17th and 21st July.

In collaboration with ESL, Esports World Cup Foundation will host 15 CS2 teams from across the world to fight for a prize pool of a million dollars. The winners of the past two premier CS2 events, namely Team Spirit and NAVI, have received a direct invitation while seven teams have made it there because of their high placement in the world rankings as of 1st April 2024 and the final six will comprise of winners of the regional qualifiers.

The 15 teams are:

  3. FaZe Clan | #2 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  4. G2 Esports | #3 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  5. MOUZ | #4 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  6. Team Vitality | #5 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  7. Virtus.pro | #6 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  8. Complexity Gaming | #9 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  9. FURIA Esports | #10 ESL World Ranking (1st April)
  10. Sashi Esport | European Qualifier
  11. M80 | North American Qualifier
  12. MIBR | South American Qualifier
  13. FlyQuest | Oceanic Qualifier
  14. The MongolZ | Asian Qualifier
  15. JiJieHao | Middle Eastern Qualifier

The Format of the tournament is a little different to what we are used to. 14 of the 15 teams will face each other in a single elimination match where the winners will advance to the playoffs and the losers go to the resurrection stage. In the resurrection stage, the 7 teams and the one left out will compete in a single-elimination bracket and the winner will advance to the playoffs. The 8 teams there will now once again engage in a single elimination bracket of B03 matches to decide the winner of the tournament.

Set to take place in Riyadh, the freshly minted tournament will attract a lot of viewers from across the world. With a staggering prize pool that rivals some of the biggest CS2 events of the year, this one has all it takes to be one of the most exciting CS2 events of all time.
