CS2 Cache First Look Revealed By Map Developer

Prominent Counter-Strike 2 map developer FMPONE has just shared the first look at the revamped version of his iconic CS:GO map ‘Cache’, sparking fervent anticipation within the community.

For the uninitiated, Cache was previously a part of the Active Duty map pool before being removed and replaced by Vertigo on March 28, 2019. However, Cache remained a part of the competitive map pool of CS:GO until CS2 replaced the game on September 27, 2023.

FMPONE’s recent unveiling of the revamped Cache has ignited speculation within the community regarding the map’s possible return to the active map pool of CS2, fueling excitement and discussion among players.

CS2: New Cache First Look

The first look at the new Cache was shared by the map dev in a Tweet. The post includes two images of the CS2 port of Cache and aims to showcase the map’s middle area.

At first glance, the new version of Cache seems to significantly improve the map’s previous iteration in terms of visuals. The map’s terrain appears to be a lot more detailed, while there are also several noticeable additions to the environment like some statues in mid holding AK-47s in their arms. Changes to the mid-window area and the T-side vents are also prominent.

Do note that the aforementioned changes are subject to change if and when the map finally arrives in CS2. At the time of writing, the exact date of Cache’s return to CS2 is still uncertain.
