The biggest Counter-Strike 2 tournament of the year is only a few days away and here is everything you need to know about the Perfect World Shanghai Major.
Both the esport scene and the game have undergone a plethora of improvements, especially the latter. CS2 was a disaster when it was initially released and with the developers consistently pushing updates, the game is working better than ever which has made the experience even more enjoyable.

Tournament Format
- The Opening Stage will have all teams besides the top 8 from the Major seed rankings.
- Teams will be put in a Swiss format where 8 teams will qualify for the Elimination Stage.
- Elimination Stage: Eight teams from the Opening Stage compete against eight pre-qualified teams in another Swiss format.
- Playoff Stage: The top eight teams from the Elimination Stage advance to a single-elimination tournament, with all matches being best-of-three.
How to watch?
While Prefect World will not be streaming the tournament in anything besides the regional language, PGL has taken it upon itself to stream it across the globe in English which will be available on their Twitch and YouTube channels.
Prize Pool
With a prize pool of 1.25 Million dollars, $500,000 goes to the winner., $170,000 to the runner-up, and $80,000 to the 3rd and 4th placed teams. $45,000 goes to the teams between 5th and 8th place while the remaining teams get $20,000 each.
