Counter-Strike 2 is an extremely competitive game, and players of the shooter should be no stranger to the amount of hard work it takes to reach the top of the ranking spectrum in CS2.
Since the introduction of Premier Matchmaking with the release of CS2, fans have been busy grinding through competitive games in hopes of improving their Matchmaking Rating (MMR).
For the uninitiated, MMR is the representation of your skill in the Premier game mode of CS2. The higher your MMR, the higher up you will be in the game’s seasonal leaderboards. As you can probably already guess, MMR can be obtained by winning Premier matches, while losing will cause it to decrease.

Counter-Strike 2 Rank Distribution 2024
Below, we’ve included the detailed statistics of the rank distribution of the Premier game mode in CS2, as per data from Leetify.
As you can see from the aforementioned chart, the 9K bracket holds the highest number of CS2 players, with approximately 8.7% of the game’s player base residing within it.
On the other hand, only 0.1% of the total CS2 player base can reach the 23K+ bracket, making it (unsurprisingly) the least populated bracket in the Premier mode.
Overall, it’s safe to say that the majority of CS2 players are located within the 8K-14K MMR bracket. If you’re able to cross the 14K mark, then you’re likely a skilled player.
